To buy time and slow the progression of dental disease, we offer minimally-invasive treatment options. With careful modifications of habits and thoughtful treatment planning, we aim to help your child achieve optimal dental health without unnecessary discomfort or invasive procedures. We work with you to determine the best course of action for your child, taking into account their unique needs and the best choice for their long-term health.
Kids can relax with their favorite Netflix and Disney pals. We offer overhead TVs with fun shows to help kids enjoy their time with us. As a mother herself, Dr. Shah may even sing along if a favorite Disney song comes on!
Kids are smart and want to know what’s going on. That’s why we approach treatment with a “tell it like it is” attitude. Using a “Tell-Show-Do” technique to communicate with your child, we explain each treatment step in terms of what they may experience, framed in positive terms. This keeps them informed without overwhelming.
It’s normal for your little one to be anxious before a dental procedure. To ease their fears, we have nitrous oxide available for those that need some extra comfort. Also known as “Funny Air,” “Comfort Air,” or “Ice Cream Air,” kids can select a yummy custom “ice cream” scent, promoting safety and comfort during treatment. In addition to relieving anxiety, nitrous oxide reduces pain, and gag sensitivity, and helps them keep their mouth open and relaxed. Nitrous is mild and short-acting so your child can happily return to their wondrous activities soon after.
Some children may be too young or anxious to cope with dental treatment. In some cases, dental treatment under general anesthesia is the safest option to provide high-quality care to children, all in one sitting. We are proud to partner with an MD Anesthesiologist who dresses like Buzz Lightyear (yes, you heard that right!). If you are unsure if your child requires general anesthesia, we work with your family to determine the most comfortable, appropriate treatment for your little one!
